Privacy Policy
The short version: Hilm doesn't collect your data. No account, no tracking, no selling. Your moments of anger and your nightly reflections are yours alone.
1. Our approach to your privacy
Hilm is a calm, private companion for the moment anger rises. It was built so you can use it without ever creating an account, signing in, or handing over personal information. We designed it to know as little about you as possible — by default, and on purpose.
2. What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. Hilm has no login and asks for no name, email, or phone number to function. The things you do in the app — the practices you open, your nightly check-ins, and your calm streak — are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.
If you choose to give a first name to personalise the greeting, it stays on your device.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data — there is nothing to sell.
- We do not build advertising profiles or run third-party ad trackers.
- We do not require an account or social login.
- We do not read or transmit the contents of your reflections.
4. Analytics & crash reporting
To keep Hilm stable and improve it, we may use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics and crash reports provided by the app stores (Apple App Store and Google Play) and our analytics provider. This data is anonymised and tells us things like how many people opened the app or where it crashed — never who you are or what you wrote. Where the platform offers it, you can opt out of app analytics in your device settings.
5. Device permissions
If you enable reminders, Hilm uses your device's notification permission to send a gentle nightly nudge. Notifications are scheduled on your device; we do not see them. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
6. Children
Hilm is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because we don't collect identifying data, there is nothing for us to gather from younger users.
7. Data you can delete
Because your data lives on your device, you are in control. Deleting the app, or clearing its data in your device settings, removes your reflections and streak. There is no server-side copy for us to hold onto.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how Hilm handles data, we'll update this page and revise the date above. Significant changes will be reflected in the app or on this site.
